Is liabilty insurance required in all states?
I was recently in a car accident in which my brother was injured and the driver of the other car was at fault. His hospital bills are now at $25,000 and the other driver says he will not pay. Isn't he supposed to have some liability insurance to cover this?

Liability insurance coverage is the most important part of car insurance. It covers payment of medical expenses as well as property damage and is required by all states. If the other guy is uninsured, it might be appropriate to hire a lawyer, unless you carry uninsured motorist coverage.
