I have a small business. Do I need to carry worker's compensation insurance?
I have a couple of laborers who I pay to help me with my small maintenance company. I am worried that I will not be able to afford to pay for their medical treatment if they are injured on the job. For a small business such as mine, is worker's compensation insurance a wise choice?

If you have employees on your payroll, especially full-time ones, you may need to carry worker's compensation insurance. Each state has different regulations concerning how many employees you must have before worker's comp is necessary. Rules are more stringent in the construction industry.
