Questionmaker FAQ
Who decides which questions and answers are appropriate for Questionmaker?
QM has a volunteer staff of qualified editors and content experts to patrol its content. We base our decisions on basic decency and common sense.
How do you become a contributor to Questionmaker?
We welcome any help you have to offer. In general we will recruit candidates who are current members to become guardians of our topic categories judged by the content they have submitted.
Do you have to get a login and password before you can ask a question or submit an answer?
You must sign up for membership to ask questions or offer answers. Become a member simply by submitting a valid email address, login and password. That's all it takes.
Is there an age limit to anyone becoming a contributor to QuestionMaker?
Questionmaker is open to all ages thirteen and over. Other than that, we encourage all genders, ethnic, socioeconomic or religious affiliations. We feel that the more inclusive the membership to QM is, more people will have a voice.
If I find an answer which is inaccurate or false, how do I put up a better answer?
QM allows you to submit your own answer as a separate entry. The only people who are permitted to edit existing questions and answers are the editors at QM, or the actual member who submitted the question or answer.
How quickly will my question show up on QM?
Your question or answer will appear as soon as you click the submit button.
If I meticulously craft what I consider to be an accurate and true answer to a particular question, will my answer stay on the site?
Yes, your submission will remain on QM permanently, unless our editors find that it is not suitable for our general audience.
How is my question or answer protected from vandalism?
Your submissions are secure to the extent that you keep you membership information out of the hands of others. If you allow others to use your login and password, we cannot protect your content from being altered.
If my five year old views your site, what protection is in place to protect him from viewing or reading inappropriate content?
QM welcomes all ages to enjoy QM. The site is intended for people thirteen years old and above. We actively read and screen all content after it is posted. "Inappropriate" is a subjective word and the best way for you to protect you child from inappropriate content on the Internet is to educate him or her yourself in its proper use, and to be at his side while he uses the Internet. Despite our best efforts, content may be posted that, until we screen and remove it, may not be suitable for children under the age of thirteen.
What is to prevent a person from copying content from Questionmaker and using it in a report or other school assignment?
QM is not responsible for content copied from its site and used elsewhere. It is up to the individual to behave honestly and morally. QM do not condone plagiarism not matter what the source.
How do you deal with crude, offensive, slanderous or otherwise inappropriate content?
The editors at QM make an effort to screen every entry made on the web site. In the event we miss an improper entry, we call on our visitors to contact us so we may deal with the entry, either by deleting it, or editing it. Members who repeatedly stray into posting inappropriate content will be advised to stop.
If I have a question in a category which is not listed on QM, will it be posted?
We hope that the categories we maintain on QM will multiply and expand with the interests and needs of our members. We will create new categories and sub-categories as the need arises.
Can a person become an editor or caretaker of a category on QM?
We need our QM members to make our site thrive and enlarge. As a member submits more questions or answers, we may recruit that member to become part of our voluntary editorial team.
