What is it that makes poison ivy so itchy?
It seems like whenever I experience the slightest exposure to poison ivy, I invariably get a sever reaction which seems to spread. How does poisin ivy spread and why is it so potent?

Poison ivy contains urushiol. Urushiol is an oil that is found in the leaves, vines and roots of poison ivy plants and it very powerful. Just a billionth of one gram, a nanogram. is enough to cause the easily spreading rash.
