audio cassette to CD
I have a bunch of audio cassettes I would like to convert to CD. Is there a way to do it without buying any additional hardware? I have a Dell computer with a standard sound card with MIC and "line in" ports and a CD burner.

If you want to record from a Walkman or other cassette player, you need to buy a jack that connects to the headphone hole on the player and the "line in" on your computer's sound card. There are loads of free software which you can use to edit your files, but Anvil Studio is the least buggy in my opinion. It allows you to trim the file to eliminate dead air. It will allow you to save files as MP3 so you can burn them on a CD. There are loads of websites which go into greater detail on how this is done.
