Antibiotics to take when I Travel to Mexico
What are some of the things I need to do to prevent illness when I travel to Mexico. I just plan to spend a few days in Cabo San Lucas for fishing and golf. Should I get a shot for hepatitis? What about something for intestinal problems?

It is a good idea to consult your physician 4-8 weeks before traveling to Mexico. People should have a current Tetanus and Diphtheria shot (within 5-10 years.) Gamma Globulin injections are advised to prevent Hepatitis A. If your were born after 1956, two injections of Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) are recommended. Obtain a prescription for an antibiotic in the event that traveler's diarrhea develops, and an anti-diarrheal medicine such as Lomotil. Use bottled drinking water.
